A few days ago the Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah released a color Kannada film magazine ‘Dhruvatharegalu’ at his residence in the presence of KFCC President Sa Ra Govindu, secretary of KFCC MG Ramamurthy and others. The colorful Kannada magazine ‘Dhruvatharegalu’ is the 10th year in existence is edited by Om Satish who has stayed Kannada cinema activities for a long time.

Apparently Om Satish had reasons to release this book from the hands of Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Dharmasthala Dharmadhikaari Veerendra Hegde on his visit to Dharmasthala. The black and white magazine is in complete color from 10th year and its circulation has also shot up to 15000 copies.

The 32 pages ‘Dhruvatharegalu’ sold in Karnataka has also a hundred copies going to Dubai, Allahabad, Hyderabad, Chennai and other states. It was Rs.15 in the beginning is now Rs.30 after gaining complete color quality.

Om Satish has come up from scratch in his life. A resident of Rajajinagar Satish joined the veteran actor Rajashanker house for work. After a few years of passing 7th standard, he continued his work with zeal and zoom.

He turned up as makeup man for top actors like Dr Ambarish and Tiger Prabhakar. He switched his interest to poster designing with Gangadhar a famous artist. After five years of work experience as poster designer Satish moved to one and only DV Sudheendra and learn the trick of film publicity. He moved to the camp of veteran PRO Nagendra. He stayed in the good guardianship of PRO Nagendra for 15 years. He assisted PRO Lingaraju for a few years.

It is after the demise of his screen god Dr Rajakumar this enterprising youngster started ‘Dhruvatharegalu’ (Dhruvathare is name of Dr Rajakumar film) in black and white. Half of the magazine has contents on Dr Rajakumar. It continues even in the 10th year birthday of the magazine.
